Gem tours and gem hunting for schools and students, national & international<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear teacher or researcher, pick your class or group to a Gem hunting tour in Yl\u00e4maa! Besides the joy of discovering, your students or groupp will have a great opportunity to learn useful information through seeing and experiencing with their own eyes and hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may consider a programme with some or all of the following alternatives:  Gem Center Ylamaa with gem museum and shops, spectrolite quarry and Salpalinja fortification line connecting geography with history. Students may eat their packed lunches in the beautiful environment of the quarry or maybe buy an ice cream at the end of the tour. A low-cost lunch can also be arranged if requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We provide teachers with a package containing a booklet called \u201cKiviopas\u201d (guidebook to Finnish stones), a quiz to be held later in the schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student prices start from 20\u20ac \/ person depending on the number of students or researchers and the chosen programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
