Welcome to the Ylämaan Gem Museum Association website On our website you will find information about the Ylämaan Gem Museum, Gem Village, the annual Ylämaan International Gem and Mineral Fair, Gemstone Tours and Spectrolite Quarry Visits, which are part of the world of gemstones. The impetus and inspiration for all of these services has been our national and world-renowned precious gemstone, Spectrolite – the world’s most beautiful labradorite gemstone – only in Ylämaan, Finland!
CURRENT: YLÄMAAN JEWEL FAIR 3.7.-5.7.2026, which is our country’s largest and internationally renowned event for gemstones, jewelry and other products for the whole family For more detailed information, please visit the JEWEL FAIR page, where you will also find registration instructions for exhibitors. QUARRY TOURS You can participate in spectrolite quarry tours during the Gem Museum’s opening hours from 1 June to 31 August 2026, and with advance inquiry and reservation at other times, even from mid-April and from September onwards. Without advance reservation, you can easily participate in daily direct tours of the spectrolite quarry from 1 June to 30 September 2026; departure from the Gem Museum is normally at 12:30 and the tour lasts about an hour.
